Currency Creek is maritime in character and offers long dry summers, mean growing rainfalls are less than six inches and temperatures remain quite cool. These conditions, matched with the ancient coastal soils, create the ideal conditions for prolonged ripening and consistent grape yields. The vines enjoy early budburst and a long, slow ripening, the last of red grapes may be harvested as late as the end of April. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir develop delicate, complex characters which are peculiar to the region. A combination of modern and traditional vinification techniques are employed to craft a genenerously falvoured sparkling wine with refined mousse, textural mouthfeel and clean, lingering finish. Alcohol 12.5%
Poistioned just southeast of McLaren Vale, Currency Creek was officially recognized as a delineated winegrowing region in 2000. Stimulated by the temperate influences of Lake Alexandrina and the balmy maritime breezes of Southern Ocean, Currency Creek's vines are encouraged by the subtle climes, continuous temperatures and elongated growing seasons to ripen grapes until they reach their full potential. Pinot Chardonnay Reserve is lively with stonefruit and strawberry flavours on the palate, highlighted by a soft pink blush from the Pinot skin contact.
Nectarine coloured with persistent bead. Stonefruits, citrus and red fruit aromas with a gentle note of biscuits and ferment complexity. Creamy textures unravel layers of fruit flavours, strawberries and cream, mango and citron characters persist on a long and integrated palate. Perfect with tortellini or salmon cutlets.
